1. Acceptance of Terms

By purchasing a ticket to, RSVPing to, or attending Motion CLT events, participants agree to these Terms of Service and to our Privacy Policy. Non-agreement means you cannot attend.

2. Personal Responsibility and Assumption of Risk

Participants acknowledge inherent risks including transportation, water activities, alcohol consumption, crowd behavior, and venue conditions, and voluntarily assume responsibility for their actions.

3. Release of Liability

Motion is released from liability for personal injury, illness, property damage, death, participant actions, venue conditions, and transportation-related issues.

4. Drinking Policy

Motion prohibits underage drinking but disclaims liability for such conduct by attendees, placing enforcement responsibility on individuals and guardians.

5. Photography, Video, and Media Consent

Motion CLT events are regularly photographed, filmed, and recorded. By RSVPing to, purchasing a ticket to, or attending any Motion CLT event, you agree to the following.

5.1 Consent to be recorded

You consent to being photographed, filmed, and audio or video recorded, including by livestream, at any Motion CLT event, venue, trip, or online session. Recording may be done by Motion CLT, its staff and contractors, or media partners it authorizes.

5.2 Rights you grant

You grant Motion CLT and its affiliates, successors, and assigns an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, reproduce, edit, publish, distribute, and display your name, image, likeness, voice, statements, and any business name or logo that appears in the recording (together, your “Likeness”), in any media now known or later developed. This includes the Motion CLT website and app, social media, paid and organic advertising, email and text marketing, recruiting materials, presentations, podcasts, video series, documentaries, and print.

5.3 Editing and approval

Motion CLT may edit, crop, caption, combine, or otherwise alter recordings containing your Likeness, and may add music, graphics, or text. You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished content or the way it is used.

5.4 Ownership and compensation

All photos, video, audio, and other content Motion CLT captures are owned by Motion CLT. You will not receive any payment, royalty, or other compensation for their use, now or in the future.

5.5 Release

You release Motion CLT, its owners, staff, contractors, partners, and venues from any claims arising from the capture or use of your Likeness, including claims for invasion of privacy, right of publicity, misappropriation, defamation, or copyright.

5.6 Guests and plus-ones

If you bring a guest, you are responsible for telling them about this policy. By attending, your guests agree to it as well.

5.7 Your own photos and recordings

You may take personal photos at social events. You may not record masterminds, hot seats, or any session where members share business details (see Section 6), and you may not use the Motion CLT name or logo in your own commercial content without written permission.

5.8 Requests not to be featured

If you would rather not appear in future content, email hello@motionclt.com or tell a team member at the event. We will make reasonable efforts not to feature you in content captured after your request, and to take down Motion CLT social posts that mainly feature you where practical. Requests do not apply to content already published in paid advertising or print, or to group shots where you are not the focus.

6. Non-Disclosure of Confidential Information

Participants must not disclose proprietary information, record confidential discussions, or share sensitive details shared by Motion team members.

7. Code of Conduct

Participants must conduct themselves respectfully and lawfully. Motion may remove disruptive attendees without refund.

8. Ticketing and Refund Policy

All ticket sales are final. No refunds will be issued except in the event of cancellation by Motion.

9. SMS Terms of Service

Motion sends 2–4 monthly event reminders via SMS. Message rates may apply. Reply STOP to unsubscribe or HELP for assistance.

10. Governing Law and Venue

North Carolina law governs these terms, with disputes handled in Charlotte courts.

11. Severability

Invalid provisions don't invalidate remaining agreement terms.

12. Entire Agreement

These terms represent the complete agreement between participants and Motion.
